Meet Comfort Joy Quilter Jill Bell
Hello, I’m Jill! welcome from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, known for its gray skies and drizzly days! Rain is perfect weather though for staying inside and quilting! I started quilting when I was in my 30’s, and I love all of it. It’s especially fun to choose the colorful fabrics, lay out the designs, and free-motion quilt the final quilt.
Another activity I love is gardening! We can’t quilt ALL the time (at least that’s what my chiropractor tells me), so when it’s not rainy, I’ll be blogging about my gardening adventures too! Probably an occasional story about Tasha the corgi dog too.
I quilt on two lovely machines. One is an older Pfaff I bought back in the 90’s when I was a newly-wed. The other is a newer Bernina my amazingly generous and thoughtful mother-in-law gave me. My machine technician tells me the Pfaff is going to die one of these days, but I just plug my ears and don’t listen to him. I love that machine!
I truly believe that home should be a place where we can relax and be refreshed. Handmade quilts, full of colors and textures, can help fill our homes with comfort and joy. Whether used to cuddle up under on a cool evening, or splashed across a comfy chair, quilts bring a charm and warmth to our homes that today’s modern textiles just can’t compete with!
Comfort and Joy Quilter launched a few years ago so that I could share the joy of handmade quilts with others. I opened an Etsy shop first, and later I created this website to provide more information about my quilts. Make sure you check out my blog, and follow along with my quilting adventures!
I hope you find inspiration and maybe an occasional laugh here! And I hope you discover the comfort and joy that handmade quilts can bring to your home!
